This Friday, after dealing with 3 months of slow as molasses legal work, I successfully secured a final contract to develop and operate a fitness-coaching program for a country club here in Central Florida.
Being the first deal of any significance that I have closed completely on my own as an entrepreneur, I am proud of myself for sticking with it.
For 3 months I waited for the contract regarding a seemingly simple deal to be finalized…but it just kept going back and forth between attorneys.
During this time I had bouts of anxiety that had to be suppressed and there were many times that I wanted to just give up on the entire thing…I’m sure many entrepreneurs experience these feelings even if they are too embarrassed to vocalize it.
The anxiety I experienced was born partially because it was taking so long, and also because I was somewhat fearful of actually committing myself to something long-term.
Although I have worked much larger scale projects to near completion, I did so under the mentorship of very savvy entrepreneurs, which gave me an expected boost in confidence.
But, now that this project has finally closed I am excited to develop the program and to rapidly begin producing measurable results.
My energy is high and I am comfortable with the project and believe in my ability to make it work very well.
I’ll talk more about this venture in my next post.
