An entrepreneur has to have friends if he is to succeed.
When the times get tough you need friends there to keep you going…and…to put up with your crazy entrepreneurial lifestyle.
Recently, I have experienced a financial downturn and am fortunately able to call upon friends who don’t hesitate to help me out.
To not have friends like this is a terrible disadvantage…one that an entrepreneur cannot afford.
Entrepreneurship is not easy and cannot be done without a strong network of deep, mutually unconditional relationships.
The path of an entrepreneur is full of great successes and great disappointments, good decisions and bad decisions, emotional highs and emotional lows.
To not have people surrounding you that you can trust and who care about you is the equivalent of entrepreneurial suicide.
Without the support of great friends, especially during the low points, you are sure to waste time wallowing in self pity and self doubt while many opportunities pass you by.
Here’s to reveling with you in entrepreneurial success!
Sincerely,
Adam C. Dudley

Adam, hang in there. Great post from the heart. As a fellow entrepreneur, I connected with you and your thoughts.
One of my favorite entrepreneurial quotes that I remember is this, from Dr. Jarvik, the inventor of the Jarvik-7 artificial heart:
"Leaders are visionaries with an under-developed sense of fear and no concept of the odds against them."
I love that quote. When times get tough, think back on that. Good luck.
