I have no tolerance for whiners...especially in this great country where even our poorest people living on the street have more money from panhandling than the other 50% of the entire world that lives on $1 a day.
Here's why...
Each and every person, especially in our great land of unlimited entrepreneurial opportunities, can shape and mold their own destiny with the simple yet incredible power of choice.
Notice I said "shape and mold" and not "create"...
The reason I qualified this is because I believe that we all have a destiny, but that destiny can only be achieved by making the right choices..
The "game of life" as I see it is this:
See how quickly you can make all the right choices and find the path to success that is already there waiting for you.
Most people, even some entrepreneurs, will refute my philosophies.
Why?
Because assuming this belief system requires that you accept 100% responsibility for the circumstances of your life and the results you generate.
This is damn hard for most people to accept in a society largely made up of individuals with a victim mentality.
Every time I fail or fall short of reaching a goal on time or at all, I analyze my choices leading up to the failure and TRY AGAIN!
This is how human beings learn and it's unfortunate that our public school system and even parents do so much damage to otherwise healthy self-images by making failure such a negative association for our youth.
Because of this, personally I have had to spend the last 3 to 5 years of my life actively re-engineering my self image to be that of someone who accepts failure as a process and not as something to internalize and feel badly about.
There are always people that had a worse childhood, encountered more obstacles, and had less advantages, that are surpassing you in accomplishments, and succeeding on a massive level every day.
Until you can fully accept 100% responsibility for the results you get, you will not be able to find your destined path to success.
For awhile I didn't think entrepreneurs were the type to be susceptible to having a victim mentality, but I was dead wrong.
I've heard entrepreneurs and small business owners that are planning and action taking machines voice complaints and whines like this:
"I had an evil partner, so my business failed."
"The economy just wouldn't support my business."
"Gas prices are killing my business."
"My marketing isn't working."
And on and on and on I could go.
These statements are born from a victim mentality and they do nothing for growth.
The true entrepreneur makes no excuses and focuses on figuring out where and why they made mistakes and then finding solutions.
Premier entrepreneurs like Walt Disney who said, "Doing the impossible just takes longer," understand this idea very well.
It's difficult to come back from the dark side of being a victim once you've been there because...IT'S EASY!
Making the choice to believe you are 100% responsible for your outcomes is HARD!
But, it's the only way to find the path to entrepreneurial success.
